I`ve been reading some very unflattering reviews about KFC and decided to put in my 2-bit (this Desi Dude guy seems to be on a mission). Hey it`s not as bad as some people are making it out to be, honestly. Agreed, I too have not developed a taste for their original fried chicken, but I do genuinely like their hot crispy style of chicken. Their zinger burger is quite an improvement over similar burgers at other chains, so also the crisp fries they serve with quite zingy sauces. I`m also rather surprised at the vegetarians who write in complaining about the `crappy` veggie fare at KFC. Guys, get a reality check - the C in KFC does not stand for coconut. Have you lost your way while searching for a MTR? Sumney complaints maad bedaa!
Being a veggie, it took some convincing by my friends to be able to go with them to eat at a place that is named KFC, the `C` standing for chicken! Anyway, they dragged me along, promising me that KFC had very `thoughtfully` created a vegetarian menu for us third-worlders and even (heavens!) cooked it seperately (o white man, I bow to thee). In this order, I had something called a chana snack cruncher, veggie pulao, and some kinda curry. In that order, they were, awful, awful, and awful. I was just about to give up hope when the guys (who were feeling a little guilty) forced a paneer tikka wrap roll into my reluctant mouth. OK, that salvaged the situation a bit, but just a tiny bit. But were you thinking of going to a KFC for a veggie meal? Wait a sec, you might have another thought coming.
Trust me people, if you have decided to eat at KFC, go for the hot n crispy instead of the so-called `original recipe` fried chicken (supposed to be a certain colonel sander`s `secret recipe`, I had it once and immediately wished it`d been kept a secret, no good). Not that the `hot n crispy` is really hot by Indian standards, but at least it has some TASTE!
C`mon guys, with the kind of chicken varieties we have in India, who the heck is lapping up kfc`s greasy fried stuff? Comes nowhere close to our tandoori, tangdi kababs and fabulous andhra-style fried chicken, does it? Bheema, na baralikhatini....
